Anyone else into fitness? Cardio? Strength training (weights, calisthenics?)

Ah. So. After I was done with the grips of my "Niemand went WAY to crazy with designer drugs and couldn’t control himself phase and almost died from that shit" about 5 years ago I got into fitness again. I started out from 5’3" tall and around 230 pounds with a 42" or so pant waist size at age 19 or 20 (this was way before my drug use)… And I got in shape and lost it all in my early 20’s. Then I stopped when I went to college. Then I got into the drugs. Then I couldn’t control myself and bad shit happened.

Fitness helped me to stay away from that crap and change my life again.

Personally, I like to do strength/resistance training with calisthenics (bodyweight exercises) and free weights. I mainly do a 3x a week full-body barbell routine these days incorporating heavy weighted chin ups and dips. I love it. I also like to speed/power walk and run.

I still enjoy the magic sprinkles and alcohol, though, but I have rarely run into problems with that stuff so I stick to these things.

Anyway, I’m just wondering if anyone else is into the whole fitness thing. It’s like free drugs. You work out and you feel GREAT. You sleep better, improve your overall mood and mental health, have more energy, are healthier, and are capable of doing so much more in life.

Just hoping to get a dialog started. I don’t care how you train or workout. The only "best way" is what you like and what meets your goals. There are SO many ways to do fitness.

Later on today I’m going to see if I have met my goal for when I turned 32. I turned 32 yesterday. A few months ago I tried to do a weighed chin up at 160 pounds with an additional 50 pounds on a dip belt for a total of 210 pounds of total resistance. I could TOUCH my chin to the bar, but not get it over. Later today or early tomorrow morning (Tomorrow is my workout day) I will record my attempt to see if I can do it JUST ONCE.

I am already doing repetitions in 3 sets at +30 pounds so… MAYBE I CAN! We will see.

Oh, and whether I make it or not I will share that video with all of you!

SO: Who likes fitness? Or who wants to get fit? I’d love to help anyone who’s interested. I’ve actually started a free Wordpress blog aimed at people who are just trying to get into fitness who have no idea WTF they’re doing. I need to start writing more articles and make more videos… I haven’t made videos YET… I want to help inspire people to change their lives and to become better, stronger, more capable, confident, happy people. 🙂
