Can’t we be proud of war protesters too? Conscientious objectors? Almost anyone can sign up to shoot people and destroy other countries, it takes a real person of conviction to work for peace.

Then I think there should be a thread to thank the people who chose to not be in the military too. We need to honor those who tried to make the world a better place, who sacrificed to stay to watch over their children. Im just tired of being congratulated for merely being a veteran. Honestly, let it go already, and let’s all concentrate on getting our men and women home, and help the veterans that got messed up for no good reason. We need to stop the wars and stop the love affair with war.
I am not saying there is no place for the military, and I am not saying there have not been valid reasons to use the military. But come on, what is the point of all of these lives lost and ruined? Is there no end? What a horrible waste of this generation!
Vets: you know I have your back. Career military: we need you to keep the peace, please don’t try to stir up a conflict to keep your job. Peace activists: keep up the good work, you are fighting the good fight. Politicians and policy makers: we are tired of you; make peace or go back to your hole. Cowards and people who refuse to take a side, I have no place for you.
