Trying to connect wireless through a linksys wrt54gl router using hughesnet–and cannot make it happen-followed instructions to the letter–nothing. SSID issue ? hughesnet block ? Any ideas anybody? I am about to drop kick the damn thing out the back door.Any suggestions would be appreciated.BTW- hughesnet/exide my only options as I live in BFE. >:(

I had a similar issue when I moved to a new place and had Time Warner install my cable and internet; since the router was not their equipment they would not touch it. The unit I had was just a few days out of warranty, but I am pretty resourceful 😉 I looked up their tech support number from the internet. With original receipt in hand I contacted tech support and told them the issue. Of course they asked where and when I bought the unit and I just fudged the date on the receipt by a week. Voila! I got the hook up! I hate telling lies but I think things are designed to go wrong just a few days out of warranty, so I equalized the situation.

Chances are you have already resolved the issue, but if not get ahold of LinkSys tech support. And of course, there is always Google like toy mentioned.
