I have a horrible alcohol related story  that happened when I was a child-the kind on the evening news & the front Page(for days). Would NEVER happen W/ MJ . NEVER.

It would probably make for a good read; care to share?  Only if you want to, of course.

grandfather (raised me like a father )-during oil/gas bust here in early 80s started losing his business–already alcoholic –started drinking heavily -Then one day decided to stop cold turkey–BAAAD DTs–the worst kind–Hallucinations,voices , the whole deal; Beat the shit out of his wife–my mother called him a crazy motherfucker-let her mother go-and he went to get his guns. Plural. Ex military.Sharpshooter. Trying to kill my moms while she was running across the street to a aunts house-He shot my aunt missed her heart by this much                .  Still has slug in shoulder. Thankfully only .22. Thank god for small favors-when his own mother showed up he shot her in the back.Wad from 12 gauge slammed into wall 3 feet from my head when he was approaching the door .He held me,my cousin,my 2yr old brother and my mom hostage for 6 hrs. After letting us go he was holed up in my aunts for another 3 days.Lucky the cops did not kill him. Watched my g-mother sign his death warrant pretty much right in front of me. I loved this man dearly-taught me to hunt and fish -and shoot . How to survive. I was 10.

He died 2 1/2 yrs later of lung cancer-sort of think he willed it.Spent 90 days in jail-put on anti-abuse (sp?) until he got really sick. Miss him . My real bio dad is a hep ridden piece of shit.

I think everyone knows someone who either died from alcohol, killed someone because of alcohol impairment, or flushed their life down the toilet due to alcohol addiction.  Alcoholism affects 1 in 20 people…

holy smokes,,i thought my DTs were bad. Intense story , thank you so much for opening up like that. Sorry you had to experience all of it.so sad.
