So Sorry to hear brutha Acid.  Good vibes sent your way for you and your family.  It does sound like the recruiter  was trying to get you in but his boss veto the decision.  My company recently hired two building engineers for my line of work I know your field is different from mine.  These guys don’t know their ass from their elbow.  All things happen for a reason even though we may not understand it or wonder how the hell we are going to survive in times of stress.  Just my two cents something better awaits you on the horizon something that is better suited to you and your family.  You are destine for better things my brutha.  Keep your head up.  May you and your daughter have a wonderful holiday season.  Let me know if you need anything.  I will try the best I can. Even if it is only $20 bucks for gas money.  You have always been there for us, now let us be here for you.  Without you and SSF this forum would have never been started to keep us close as a family.  I love you man = No HOMO lol  😛

Dude You are being too hard on yourself. There are lots of instances where 20,000 people apply for less than 1,000
jobs. There are just too many people to pick from, prolly easier to win the lottery with those #’s

http://www.bing.com/search?q=20,000peopleapplied+for+job&form=APMS1

Check out the second one, 20,000 people already applied for a one-way trip to colonize Mars,
I guess ya missed out on that too :smoking

You keep trying & things will work out

Hi AciD; sorry to hear about the job predicament. Seems nowadays it’s a multiple interview process to attain a job; the prospective employer holds all the cards and the interviewee jumps through the hoops at his own expense. I am in the same field as you, and there is a plethora of jobs two hours south of here. Unfortunately, now that I have the qualifications for the job my doctor says he’s not sure when or if I will be able to the job with my medical requirements. Of course, lots of places require a degree just to diminish the size of the applicant pool. On top of that they ask for several years of experience; I have lots of book knowledge but little practical application experience. I know you are pretty knowledgeable and assume that you do have some experience so you should have a little edge. I found that availability of IT jobs is regional; if you don’t mind moving the jobs are there. Personally, moving would not be an option even if I was physically able. Anyways, I am wishing the best for you and don’t want to see you getting down over this bump in the road. I agree that Craigslist is a better resource than Monster, etc. from my son’s experience. Good luck man, and if there’s any way I can help you, you know it would be my pleasure.

Sorry to hear this acid. Hope everything fixes up I know how it feels to be jobless. Recently got laid off for spraining my hip. Said it was an off job accident so they couldn’t cover it just gave me two weeks off. Wasn’t fully recovered after that and couldn’t go back to work so they laid me off. Times are tough but it gets better.
