I’ve gotten plenty of use out of my Wii. Lately it’s mostly been a Netflix box for the kids, but I’ve enjoyed plenty of games on it over the years….the Zeldas, the Mario Galaxies, Wario, Mario Kart (without the stupidass wheel), Wii Sports…my wife and I have had countless heated battles in golf and bowling. A bonus for me is that I’ve softmodded mine, turning it into my favorite emulation machine ever–there’s just something awesome about playing NES games with the Wiimote.
Maybe that’s what I need to do, to get some functionality out of this thing. What all can it emu?

I should note that you have to enter your Wii’s unique mac address into that site and it will customize the software for you; it will only work with your own system’s mac. It installs on an sd card, and then you can use a usb stick or hard drive from there. I keep my Wii .iso files and emulator roms on a 300gb usb hard drive and the softmod files on an 8-year old 128mb sd card from an old digital camera that would otherwise be useless anymore 🙂

I softmodded my Xbox with the 007 game exploit. A bit clunky, but playing imports and emus on it is great. For those wanting Wii for such an endevor, Gamestop has used ones for $69… which aint too bad.
I honestly think that without Sega around, and the gaming press telling them each first party game is a brilliant masterpiece, that Nintendo is suffering delusions of grandure. Hell, Sega flat out beat them at the mascot thing. It didn’t matter if Sonic had good games or a console… he’s got comics, a story, and a massive fanbase that’ll buy anything with his picture. The best Nintendo did for Mario outside gaming was to have Captain Lou play him… and even at the time people knew it was a bad idea.

Are you talking about Agent Under Fire for the original Xbox? I have copies of that game for both Xbox and PS2 but haven’t gotten around to modding either yet. I have my 360 modded with an xk3y though and absolutely love it. I’m not an online gamer, so I’ve never tried it with xbox live….not sure how well it would work. If I ever get a PS3 I’d get a 3k3y for it if it’s anywhere near as good as the xk3y.

Got mine mainly for emulation. When I told my pops what it does, he wanted one too… lol. Considering the headache of setting up emus, setting up a controller to run them, etc… I don’t mind paying that price. Tablets are useless for gaming to me… I need a controller.
Besides, it’s a good compromise between having a new console and the JXD gamepad I was lusting over. As long as I can play some classic games and get my MAME on I’m good. ^_^
