Slightly old new but cool nonetheless

The blast lasted only about a single second and shone like a 4th magnitude star—making it bright enough to see with just the unaided eye.

Far more fun to believe it to be a secret moon base blowing up!  Or an abandoned spacecraft who’s reactor went critical.

Oooo, I got one! See, our sun is part of a binary star system whose paths intersect like an 8 and we are in that part of the cycle where our orbits will pass one another, and debris like this will become more regular if that is the case. http://www.viewzone.com/sirius.html

One of my favorite thing to do while spiced is to look up at the night sky and just wonder.  That would have been cool to catch that first hand.

Mom slaps mouthy kid so hard the Impact causes great grandchildren to walk funny.

Sorry, the more I looked at the title of the thread, the more tempted I was to be a smartass. I resisted all day but the smartass in me is fighting too hard to hold back.
