Gwar lead singer Dave Brockie died Sunday, his manager said Monday. Brockie was 50.

"His body was found Sunday by his band mate at his home in Richmond, Virginia," Gwar manager Jack Flanagan said in a statement on the group’s website.

"More information regarding his death shall be released as the details are confirmed."

This is a sad day, brothers and sisters.  Truly the passing of a ‘great’.

Word is he was just kinda sitting in a chair, normal-like when they found him.

GWAR was a great influence upon my larval form, and I still listen to their music near-daily.

Sheer brilliance. 

The world is now a darker place.

But I think he’d approve of that result.
