Is "A Scanner Darkly" too deep and dark to be a stoner movie?  It was puzzling to watch while blazed.

The Darjeeling Limited was also fun to watch blazed.  Actually we had a Star wars bong-a-thon and pizza marathon that was fun!  Everyone was really dragging by Return of the Jedi!  A lot of dozing off.

Can’t share my love for Pineapple Express… it’s the Miami Rhapsody of stoner films… or maybe Mixed Nuts.  Lots of good people, but when you really look at it, the film just doesn’t work.  *shrug*  To each their own, but be warned … you’d be better off watching some Cheech & Chong.  It’s up there with Bong Water for most disappointing stoner flicks for me.

I gotta give it up for Undercover Brother tho… now that shit is funny.  I picked it up and groaned, "Oh shit, another Pootie Tang.." when I got it, but it’s so good.

Zach & Miri Make a Porno is also a great stoner flick, despite a lack of drugs.

There is a new one that just came on Netflix called "Super" with Rainn Wilson. Check it out, it’s pretty trippy and weird and fun.

—————

And some classics:

Altered States (about John C. Lilly)
Easy Rider
Head (by The Monkeys – a true "Psychedelic" masterpiece)
The Trip (1967 with Peter Fonda)
The Van (1977)
Waking Life (2001)

Each one of these movies is amazingly cool (except for "The Van" – that one is just plain 70’s stoner silliness)

The Grateful Dead Movie

Love this movie. Sweet versions of the songs, and the animation bits are just so perfectly psychedelic.

Have it on VHS  😛

Gotta get a clean DVD version. I still miss Jerry

I got the 2 disc DVD before it went out of print, HIGHLY Recommended! Its out on blu-ray now, the 2nd disk has about 90 minutes of footage that was cut from the film, and some other stuff:
