In a sweeping decision in favor of Citizens & digital privacy, the Supreme Court ruled today that the police almost always need a search warrant to search through a cell phone database, even in the case of someone who is under arrest. In a Unanimous decision, the high court ruled against the obama administration and thumbed their noses at the dark side. Quite a surprise after deciding that cops who arrest anyone anywhere may strip search and cavity search anyone at anytime.
