I’m painting! yay. We are trying to get our house on the market asap, so we are taking advantage of both me and the Hubby having the day off to paint a few rooms. We might cut loose in the evening though, if we get enough done!
4th of July hasn’t been the same to me since I broke my foot lighting fireworks 8 years ago…
did you break your foot because you were running away or because the firework blew up before you thought it would? lol
last year I was lighting fire crackers and throwing them….dumb idea., one of em blew up right before leaving my hand and left a ringing noise in my ear for 2 weeks.
I was backing away so it didn’t blow up in my face. It was one of those mortar launchers. I backpedaled and stepped right in a hole. Broke my 5th metatarsal bone (the bone behind your pinkie toe). First and only broken bone and had to have surgery to pin it together, as it was explained to me that bone doesn’t heal on its own 70% of the time. I was in a cast for nearly a month without any sign of it healing. Haven’t walked without pain since, and it gets worse and worse all the time, as arthritis has set in on it real bad. To make matters worse, the opposite foot feels like it’s getting bad from taking the weight off of the repaired one for so long. I get an intensely sharp pain behind my big toe in the non repaired one…

Shit… worst I had happen to me was a backfired bottle rocket that sprayed molten plastic all over my leg. Hurt like a bitch, and had to peel the shit off before it fully set or it’d take chunks of flesh with it.
It’s my birthday as of 3am… saw Despicable Me 2 in 3D today… not sure what we’re doing tomorrow. I’d be just as happy sleeping in with the shit weather we’ve been having.

Weirdly, when I was a kid fireworks were illegal in PA and legal in NY, so we envied the kids "up there". Now, fireworks are legal in PA and illegal in NY.

I’m working today so for me the 4th is just like any other day, except no bank, UPS, FedEx or mail. I hate holidays and Sundays for those reasons–why are services suspended on so called hoidays or on Sunday? Get with the 21st century already!
