Ok, I’m no good at telling short stories but I’ll try my damn best to!

The first time I did salvia I was hanging out with my friend (at least 10 years ago). We smoked bud and listened to music, the usual… and he told me he this shit that was supposedly "better than weed" (his term). Well, being a typical 19 y/o I thought "well hell yeah motherfucker, let’s do it!" I’d like to state that beforehand I had never tried anything harder than a joint ( i got worse later on haha), so this was all new to me. He invited over some dude and his girlfriend and we just hung out for a while. At the time, he had this really cool light green vaporizer that was amazing and I went for it first. The first effect I noticed was that my vision just sort of shifted, kind of like a TV on a 90 degree angle. I kept turning my head to correct but nothing worked. The next effect I can only describe as being surrounded by bubbles (or maybe I felt like I was IN a bubble; hey, this is 10 years ago, gimme a break!). I started laughing like crazy and laid down on this dude’s bed and put a blanket over my feet, still laughing. So what is this guy’s great idea? He puts on FACES OF DEATH while I’m in a goofy, yet paranoid state. Yeah, that was a treat; laughing my ass off and being terrified at the same time watching people getting killed. What an incredible ass.

The second time I did it was at another friend’s house. This time went much better. Some laughing, some joking around and getting goofy, but a much better experience. I actually remember this one dude trying it, exhaling and falling into an open closet giggling like a mad man. The third time was the weirdest though; I had my old trusty glass bong and ripped a whole bowlful, and just started crawling around the room laughing. After that, Salvia got banned in my state and I never did it again since. I do admit it was pretty fun to do, but I didn’t feel in control of myself, and I can’t smoke shit that does that to me. But if it works for you, hey…. I ain’t gonna judge  ;D

Anyone else have similar experiences? Probably just me but doesn’t hurt to ask!

The Salvia "spirit" is a prankster, and loves to fuck with you if you don’t approach her with respect.

I’ll never ever do Salvia again.

Yep. I learned the not-so-fun-and-not-too-smart way for sure  😛

Like I said, it WAS a lot of fun at some point, but I just didn’t like feeling not in control of myself. This is just my personal opinion, as some people love Salvia (and really, it can be magical ride if done properly)  :smoking-hookah:

I remember when I was a lot younger I purchase a couple zones for REAL cheap online. I read somewhere during my research you need HIGH heat to release the actives so I tried with a butane lighter. I didn’t really feel any affects and the bags sat around for years before they were thrown away.

I have never gotten or really been motivated to getting a concentrate.

I experimented with straight leaf in 1987 and 1988, and with concentrates in the 1990s.  With the straight leaf there was a pattern of feeling a shift of gravity perception, and it felt like wind or gravity was pushing through me sideways.  I was always in nature while experimenting and I always noticed the environment, and I either had a sitter nearby or had my notebook nearby to try to keep notes on the experiences.  There wasnt any fun, per se, in that I never felt an urge to smile or laugh but I was never afraid or in pain either–I guess it was all about perception and reality changes and since I was prepared for that and attempting to be clinical, and I was in a semicontrolled environment, I never had any adverse issues even with concentrates.  Try eating an apple on salvia–it is almost a religious experience!
People looking for a thrill or for an adventure and attempt to do a salvia concentrate in a bong for their first experience with the stuff would certainly get an adventure.  Salvia effects come on fast and depending on dose can completely reorient one’s view of the world; for a short time nothing will make sense, nothing is familiar and with coincentrates we are talking about a complete loss of one’s self for a while.  If the user isn’t prepared for that I can easily see the experience being frightening.  Also, salvia doesnt produce any tingles or euphoria, it just messes with your mind–one’s mental state going into the experience has a lot to do with having a positive overall experience as opposed to a disastrous psychic event.
Personally, all of the so-called "recreational" salvia use in the last decade is the reason salvia has been banned in so many places, and quite frankly salvia should never have been sold in head shops and on line as a "high"–just because something definitely "works" it doesn’t mean it is safe to use from a health or even a mental health perspective.  While I have a strong belief people have the right to experiment with any drug or substance they want to, bath salts, hallucinogens and dissociatives should never have touted and sold as legal highs.  A lot of people did not have the educational background or information available to them in order to make informed decisions–these materials are potentially dangerous to use–but that’s just my editorial comment.

I never once got the giggles from extracts but did have varying experiences all the way to breakthrough. On one (and my last) trip the room was slowly ripped or evaporated from left to right leaving the Real world behind the veil in its wake. This was awe inspiring and fearful all at once until a knowledge overtook me. I’d been tricked and the life i knew moments before was gone forever.
I had entered a spirit world what i had perceived as life was no more than that a plant might experience before being crushed under a tire
Then I saw the tire tracks in the mud and rain as the began radiating outward in a pattern expanding. Just as I was starting to come back I scrawled the pattern-this helped me to remember the trip. Still disoriented i "returned" feeLing very grateful for life and family.
Like the rime of the ancient mariner.

A memorable experience- no laughing matter :p

Do treat the green goddess w/ respect or she will kick your ass.I use salvia every so often and it seems to throw off my major depression for a good 10-12 days–However, this is NOT a party drug and can be terrifying for some people.I have had some amazing insights and gained much understanding from it but I have also had seriously mad scary experiences also(for ex.-2 evil jesters leaning out of my tv having an argument as to whether or not I was dead-Yes she is ! No shes not!) . I do use 20x concentrate and I always breakthrough—never had a laughing fit-weird-nothing I have ever experienced on salvia seemed too terribly funny, maybe the reg. leaf or a slow build w/ a quid would have this effect.Hmmm,I have plain straight leaf that has not been doctored yet–maybe I will give it a shot.

Ego Death. Your are now a card carrying member of "the Grateful Dead"

———————————

That’s why i think the government keeps it legal.

They are like, "you wanna get high? Here you go, try this!"

Knowing full well that when a user gets the correct dose and they blast off – they may never want use any drugs again.

I did salvia a bunch for a very short time years back. Started with 10x and got to 30x before I had enough. It felt like music played a big part in my trip every time. In the loser dosages I could stand and even walk a little bit. At 30x though I was outside of my body for what felt like an hour and everything turned into skittle pixels. Very intense, but it can be fun with the right people and dosage. Not for parties though. I don’t see myself doing it again. I have a lot more fun on LSD.
