For perspective, I think you all are worrying too much about the wrong thing. Only thing I can pull up in search is when I search for ‘spiced.biz’ and a listing for ‘Spiced Chatters’ pops up, but you have to know the domain name to find it. Searching for ‘spice’ or ‘spice forum’ gets nothing. A better question would be ‘should chat be avoided entirely?’ I never use chat rooms because I am paranoid about security and this chat room is not secured by https. The domain name is fine and no reason to change IMO but up to AciD of course.
Actually, all you need is some vendor names to trace back to spice via search. Also it won’t help if people have given this domain name anonymously to authorities who are pursuing sites like this….
It use to be worse via search engines but Acid has changed it a bit to keep it lil more private but can still find it via vendor names to find the site.
I heard, but did not confirm, that private chat windows on http://spiced.gchats.net/ are pretty safe….
Don’t Date Robots! The world is trained to ignore everything unless it comes from the church, their TV, celebrities, or the media.
Nice post, Axa. Informative as usual.

why not just block the robots (search spiders) alltogether? by placing a <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW"> in the head tag of the template, also you can edit the robots.txt file to say

I do Web Development and SEO for a living I usually consult clients on how to be found on the search engines, but I also know how to avoid the spiders while developing sites in a development envronment on a server that our clients can access if they know the address, the above mentioned tactics keep all 400+ of our dev sites out of the engines until we launch
its not about the search indexing, its about the name spiced. All spiders are disabled here now. Planet X is a benign name and it is a good stealthy place to be these days. :horns up  :horns up
DJ-D-Phunk; we could always use more web support here if you’re down?
