It’s about that time. First game kicks off 11am est today. I’m not a huge soccer fan, but I really enjoy the World Cup every four years. If there was no corruption and flopping I’d enjoy it even more.  Russia is hosting and plays Saudia Arabia in today’s match.  The team I’ve been rooting for is Cote D’ivoire/The Ivory Coast. They didn’t qualify this year, so I’ll be mainly watching to enjoy ‘the most beautiful game’ rather than rooting for anyone in particular. The US also didn’t qualify, so expect that to lead to even  less coverage than usual for what the rest of the world is  a huge event.
Just wanted to open a thread where we could ‘kick it’ about this years happenings, anything from the ‘sports ordinary’ to things more along ‘the wild side’.
