So I`m finally ready to start making the apple pie moonshine I mentioned in the last topic in this forum. I tried to buy a bottle of Everclear and learned that you need a permit to buy it here in PA, and on said permit you have to describe how you intend to use it AND YOU CAN`T SAY ‘DRINK IT.’

I can’t even go to a neighboring state because it’s completely illegal in OH and only the 151-proof kind is legal in WV. Shit.

you are very misinformed, my good sir. it’s completly legal to posses Everclear as long as you are 21 or older. Some states ban or regulate the sale but possession is not a problem in all 50 states.

Go to  wine chateau dot com and order till you run out of money and you wont be breaking a single local or state law. Just be ready to sign for the fedex package and you are all set.

I just meant they don`t sell it there. Sorry, poor wording on my part–I was trying to post in the car while the wife wouldn’t stop her jibba jabba.  🙁

Not sure of the laws in your state, but most places it’s now more or less ‘legal’ to have your own, small-quantity still.

(Commercial setups of <1 gallon per batch capacity are not even federally tracked)

There are a lot of kits available for small-scale batches, for just a couple hundred $. 

An enterprising neophyte with just a little know-how can make one with off-the shelf hardware store items.

A individual *may* be able to come up with some method of recouping that cost over time.

Obviously, I’m referring to recycling cans, returning soda bottles, and donating plasma. :nannah:

That’s if you want to make "real" ‘shine.  The recipes and whatnot floating around are really just a mixed drink.

I think I’m just going to go with Bacardi 151 instead of Everclear.

I keep my still a long way from my home and I keep my batches small, personal use only..i have seen a few larger stills get broken up here , but for the most part medium to small stills are overlooked…You have to know you state and city laws and then also know the local attitude , our police force looks the other ways on some things and not on others..so it really helps to know you areas moral beliefs along with the laws..

I run mine over two separate coils it gives a second distilled smoothness , and makes it hella damn potent. I have only used corn mash. always wanted to make a fruity shine..that apple pie sounds good..

I live in Ohio. Is not completely illegal here. You just have to go to Indiana to buy it is all… Unless there’s some liquor stores that sell it I can’t be sure of that. I know plenty of people that drink it or used to at least…
