I’m sure most of us love amazing tasty food when you smoke up or drunk, but who here enjoys cooking? It has been a hobby of mine forever and I always have a great time thinking of new dishes to make or recipes I could improve on. If any of you want to share methods of cooking, recipes, etc, go ahead!

Turkey Soup

Cooked up some mushrooms, onions, celery along with some ground pepper, sesame seeds and garlic.

Throw all of that into a pot of 2 containers of low sodium chicken stock, turkey, scallions, sliced carrots and egg noddles. Smells so damn fucking good.

The end product. Put it in a bowl, add some hot sauce and a little more pepper and you are set! YUM!

Pulled Pork:

My rub at the moment consisted of Grill Mates Montreal Chicken Seasoning, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Crushed black pepper, Season Salt and crushed red pepper. I also used A&W Root beer.

After I pulled it apart I added Stubb’s BBQ Sauce along with a little Jack Danial’s BBQ Sauce, some Tabasco sauce and Frank’s Red Hot Sauce.

After another 45 minutes it was time to serve. It came out pretty good. A bit on the sweeter side where I would have loved more of a smokey/spicey flavor. That’s what I love about cooking though. It’s all you. Next time I plan on trying a more smokey BBQ sauce and a lot more spice.

PS: Everyone should own a slow cooker. These things are one of the best items to have in the kitchen. Plenty of easy recipes around and you can walk away from it for hours.

Protip: Always use slow cooker liners otherwise they take forever to clean up.

now your cookin’

btw, excellent recipe in the pulled pork.

I prefer Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce these days for just about everything BBQ.

I need to try those, thanks for the tip!!

Can never go wrong with Sweet Baby Rays BBQ. I usually used that, but I have become tired of the sweet taste and want more smoke next time. I need my own damn smoker!

Sweet Baby Rays is the best. For added smoke flavor, there is actually a smoke flavor additive. I’ve not noticed it in stores but have seen it many times in commercial kitchens. I have only seen it in gallon jugs.

I’m torn between sweet baby Ray’s and Montgomery inn bbq sauce. I mix them if I have both. MI it’s real heavy on garlic, and added to the sweetness of sbr, it’s too die for!!
