Anybody that saw the original Oldboy think this should not have been attempted? How can this live up to it? No Oh Dae Su? Well….shit. I think Hollywood is gonna change the story significantly to make it palatable for mainstream American viewers. I think the original was a classic and should have been left to those not too lazy to read subtitles. Is the well so dry in Hollywood that everything must be remade? Part of me wants to watch it, and part of me wants to see it fall on its ass. Please submit your opinions below. You can bash me for being a purist; I can take it. :nannah:

To add insult to injury, Samuel Jackson was in a movie released last year called The Samaritan (trailer below); his character was imprisoned for 20 years and upon release is manipulated into an incestuous relationship with his daughter unbeknownst to him. Lots of accusations of ripping off Oldboy on this film even while the remake was in its beginning stages. So much for originality.
