Obamacare is BS, and it will not fix the reason that sooo many emergency rooms & hospitals have gone out of business.
Problem is illegal immigrants run up huge hospital bills & then are never seen or heard from again. The employers of
these illegals don’t always check to see if these folks have been properly trained to use the tools & equipment the job
calls for & then later when something does go wrong and now some ignorant illegal alien has gone ahead & cut his hand
or fingers off, whoopsi, Now guess who gets dropped off at a hospital emergency room? Who is gonna pay, that’s right-
Nobody will. The Federal Gov’t put in place a law that makes the hospital Have to treat folks who arrive whether or not they can pay their bill, Unfortunately there is no provision for this same hospital to ever get paid for their work later.
To aggrave matters further there are now two dif prices to contend with, the uninsured price and the insured price.
The uninsured costs are greatly raised from the insured price which just makes uninsured folks feel the costs are
a lie, which in truth, they are.
As an example my last surgery required an overnight hospital stay, for this I would have been charged $2,000
had I not been insured. As an insured client the insurance paid $800 and I paid $150. This always makes me
wonder why do the hospitals need Two dif fee structures? Obviously they use the higher amount as a write-off
on their taxes each year. Hell of a write off, it really seems like they have two books, just like the mafia used to…
What kills me are the folks that still insist to this day that Obamacare is somehow ‘free.’ Folks are starting to figure that fallacy out a bit with this first wave of reality, but we ain’t seen nothing yet. The US gov just seized control of 18% of the total US economy with this move, and we all know how efficient their programs are. We’re already heavily in debt, and this program just added trillions in unfunded liability to the bottom line. What could possibly go wrong?…. :popcorn:
