Hillsborough, FL — Several business owners were hit with hefty fines after violating the synthetic code enforcement ordinance.
The Hillsbourgh County code enforcement board listened to several synthetic drug ordinance violation cases on Friday morning.
They each ended with similar outcomes.
Fines ranged from $2,500 to more than $1.2 million.
The businesses are fined for violating the synthetic drug ordinance by either possessing, selling or distribution of synthetic drugs that go by names like K2, Spice, Scooby Snacks and Potpourri.
Two of the attorneys argued that the substance found in the containers should be tested to ensure the contents was a synthetic drug substance. But that didn’t hold at the hearing and business owners were still charged and fined.
Business owners have 30 days to pay the fines, they will be charged an additional $1,000 for each day they pay late.

fuckin bullshit. They have to test that shit before anyone gets fined. If it is a legal synthetic there is no charge even for selling it in the store…at least in PA…The thing is that Stores can still sell it even out in the open but the fucking pigs will raid the place and take everything and put bullshit charges and hold people in jail until they take thier good old time getting test results…and the stores cant afford to lose off thier product from testing and end up paying bail everytime they get raided so they will sell it on the DL…In my opinion stores that want to sell it should be able to submit packets for testing and show the results for each product they sell to local law enforcement so they aren’t bothered..but then again…that costs money… :'(
