Logical outcomes from this?

1. FBI/NSA just shut down the #1 biggest hosting site and #1 most wanted person on Tor

2. Silkroad is next on their list, being the #2 most wanted (#1 was Child Porn, #2 is drugs)

3. Bitcoin and all crypto currenecies set to absolutely CRASH as a result since the feds can not completely control this currency as they please.

Freedom Hosting definitely made money via child porn, and they knew they were hosting it. Google #OpDarknet.

Still remains to be seen what happens with SR. I stopped using Tor years ago when it got taken over by pedophiles. So I’m not too concerned.

On the other hand, fuck the feds.

If you had a tormail account assume the FBI has your username and passwords and any emails you left on the server. If you used the same username or password on another site best change your passwords now. The best free alternative to tormail is i2pmail.org.

Sure, Firefox is the most secure browser. The problem is with javascript. The info I am seeing says the javascript exploit the FBI used only affected Firefox 17, the latest is Firefox 22.0. It is always a good idea to turn javascript off and enable only when necessary. Certainly never enable javascript when on Tor. The best tools to do this easily with Firefox are the NoScript and Request Policy extensions (they work together.)

Once you have the i2p client running on your computer you can set up a mail account from your router control panel.

It is possible bitcoin could take a hit tomorrow, which could provide a really nice buying opportunity.

That was my line of thought. I don’t expect it to get really nice unless they are actually going to go after Silkroad, though.

Im gonna make a moral judgement call here.  Any sick fuck who thinks kids are in any way erotic, sexual in an exploitive mannner and acts on those thoughts deserves the fullest and most severe draconian medieval punishment imaginable.

Hosting kid porn: I hope after they are all publicly castrated with contaminated safety scissors, then rot in hell forever.

The KP crowd has led the feds to every GOOD underground thing ever.  AOL, Usenet, Bearshare, Limewire, Tor… even Napster was used as a way to share their filth.  They don’t care if they ruin a good thing like Silk Road… they just worry about their own sick needs.  I suspect a genuine lack of empathy… literally something wrong with them that makes them blind to the fact these kids are someone’s family.  That they’re scarred forever afterwards.

There are those who say it’s a sickness, but just like the jackass that kidnapped those 3 girls and said it was because of his "sex addiction" that excuse just doesn’t fly.

Most people who perpetuate pedophilia were at one time victims of sexual abuse in their own lives.

This song does a good job in illustrating the sick cycle of  sexual abuse.

The latest Tor Browser Bundle uses Firefox 17 and has javascript turned on by default. I’m guessing this was the target setup that the exploit is trying to use.

Torproject released a security advisory today explaining the exploit: https://lists.torproject.org/pipermail/tor-announce/2013-August/000089.html

They are recommending everyone update to a Tor Browser Bundle that uses Firefox 17.0.7 ESR (which fixed the hole which allowed the exploit) and disable javascript.

They also note that "TBB users on Linux and OS X, as well as users of LiveCD systems like Tails, were not exploited by this attack" and are recommending switching away from Windows.

You can run Linux from a USB Flash Drive for all your stealth browsing.
