Should we open up Blend Forums to the Public for a Month?

No one can see any blend discussions unless they are a member. This was done by design to protect the forum. Some feel that we should let the GP see these forums. I would be willing to do it periodically but not permanently. Let me know what you think.

Another breath and I'm up another level
It feels good to be up above the clouds
It feels good for the first time in a long time now

I think we should open them up for a while. To be honest, I found TGL by google search when I was looking for reviews of LHS’ blends. How else would someone find this forum?

i did vote already and i think i want members only reading the good stuff. But i am a private person as i post on the web. did not know he wanted a reason , just thought he wanted a vote.

he didn’t say he wanted a reason, I’m just curious and interested in hearing why you think the general public shouldn’t be able to see the forums. And my vote was the only vote showing when I posted that, wanted to make sure your vote counted too!

What I don’t get is anyone can register so the stuff you put on this website is only so private. Hell, a DEA pig could register here if they wanted to and then they’d be able to see everything. There’s not much of a point to hiding the forums unless we make this site invite only or something like that. I get that making reviews and other topics open will make them easier to find though, there is a good reason to keep them closed too.

Tough call.  I’d prob keep it private.  Most people who come on here would just be looking for reviews on products, and wouldn’t be interested in posting or talking.

Everybody knows that the government isn’t lurking around ma and pa websites to setup a major sting operation that would require your actual address to be in sight to be possible, right?
I think the blends you’re smoking right now are making you paranoid.
Make the website open, otherwise it’ll die before long.

Is there a way we could optimize the search so the will get hit on a search but then you’d have to register to see.

I like this idea, I know it’s been done with other forums, we should do that here if possible

Intresting topic but my guess would be no. I wouldn’t want this website shut down if it would ever get popular enough.

Just my 2 cents on this, I dont make the rules. lol

Do what you please admin!

Sounds like a ‘middle of the road’ approach might be best…whatever that might entail.

The community is what it’s about…how best to preserve and nurture that while maintaining the growth we need to be viable in the long term would be key info, IMHO.

I think you should open up the forum but keep the shoutbox and chat for registered members only.

This is the best idea as long as we set duration the site is open.

It seems like the majority would say we shouldn’t open the forum at all. I like the idea of making reviews searchable but not viewable until the person registers. I’ve seen sites like that and although they were annoying, they were much more private. That might be the best idea imho.
