                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            My 6 year old daughter has medically intractable epilepsy. This means that her condition does not respond well to the treatments we have tried thus far. She has been on a myriad of medications and combinations of medications as well as a very specialized diet but with little success. Currently she is having hundreds of seizures every day despite her medication regimen. I am asking that u legalize medical cannabis for use in not just adults but also children so that my little girl may benefit. The medications she’s taking now are much more harmful to her long term than cannabis would ever be. I am not asking for my 6 year old to sit down and light up but rather have access to cannabis oil that is very low in THC (the part that gets one "high") and very high in CBD (the medicinal part). I am grasping at straws Gov. Corbett and I’m asking you to please put yourself in my position as a parent. Knowing that there is something out there that could help my daughter and knowing that it’s just out of reach is gut wrenching for me. There have seen a few stories on the news lately about the success of medical cannabis oil for seizure control in children and when you look online there is story after story from people who have been helped by medical cannabis, not only for their seizures but for a very wide array of things. I’m begging you to take this seriously. I know that the battle you face is that it is not legal federally and that you want to stay in line with that but I implore you to let the citizens of the state of Pennsylvania make the risk/benefit decision for themselves. Think about what you would do if this story was that of one of your own children. Please legalize medical cannabis in Pennsylvania. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
