Two years ago I decided enough was enough. I was 6’2"and 365 lbs. I had been overweight most of my life. I had just turned 50 and I saw on The Doctors a diet that taught you healthy eating habits. I had always eaten with disregard for my health, eating when and what I desired. I also knew my father died at 55 from a massive heart attack. I lost 150 pounds over a 14 month period. I went from having type 2 diabetes with a A1C (3 month average) blood sugar of 278 meaning at times my sugar was over 500. Severe knee pain due to weight as well. I am no longer diabetic and my bp is close to normal and controlled by medication. My blood work is checked by doctor every 3 months with all in normal ranges. I thought I would share with anyone dealing with excessive weight. The book is in paperback now for about $12. I’ll just share the basics of the diet as I used it. I stuck to a limited diet of items in it that I liked. I believe that weight loss is 90% mental. The diet is 4 17 day increments with the first 17 days being the toughest as you detox. NO bread, dairy, sugars(esp. refined sugar)/ Only meats are grilled chicken or baked fish for first 17 days. Then you can have like a boneless pork chop every other day. This keeps you from going into fasting mode where you diet and diet and never lose weight.
Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled in microwave
fat free greek yogurt with fruit
Lunch: a grilled chicken salad with fat free dressing….no cheese,bacon, and fatty items
Supper: 1 whole boneless chicken breast baked or grilled
1 can of green beans
Beverages: lipton diet green tea or water
Snacks: 2 fruit a day, seedless red grapes. yogurt
vegetables: green beans, broccoli, asparagus, green pepper, onion, mushrooms….no starches like potatoes, peas, butterbeans, corn
That’s a general overview of the diet. Hope it can help anyone interested in losing weight.

At your weight eating 2500-3000 calories a day you should have lost weight for a month or so. All those books are same shit. Just buy real food and dont go over your body weight x10. If you exercise everyday and have decent metobolism do body weight x13.
I use to be over 300lbs at 5’8. I’m now 165. In the end dieting is pretty simple. Stop eating fast food and processed crap, cut the soda and empty calories and cut out beer. You need to burn more calories than you consume to lose weight. Once you stop eating complete crap and get your heart rate up once a day you should be gold. It’s also a good chance to learn how to cook at home. Soon you’ll realize how much better food is when you know what is in it and you cooked it yourself.

I was always over weight an had bad eating habits an times of day I would eat an feel all are important factors to weight loss Stress alo. Since ive turned 25 I have not been over 180. I feel alot contributes to my job very active, only eat three usually 2 times a day. NO SODA AT ALL, FASTFOOD NO MORE THAN TWICE A WEEK. BRING SACK. I STARTED Also to cook two veggies one meat atleast. The pop was the big one for me use to drink 5 to 6 a day. I’m in better shape now then when I was 18. 35 now a blend a day does a body good. 🙂

I was 320 pounds at 6foot 2 inches when I got out of regular service..
last year I went on a running , dieting kick and got down to 175, I am at 190 now and feel pretty good.
I might try this for daily maintenance.




Partner and I r losing tons. I eat exclusively fruit and nuts/seeds through the day. Then smoothie at night. Or cooked meal of clean eating only. Since Sept., was worried I might go Karen carpenter but it’s apparently doing me right.
Clean eating – fruit veg nuts seeds legumes grains. And also fat, got to have cheese butter oil.
Instead of bread, cook wheat berries. Eat a pile of rice or spelt. As long as what you eat is the form it popped out the ground in, when you take a knife to it or throw it in a pan. Your body will be amazed at real food and do you right. Potatoes, rice, corn —- if it came out the ground we can eat it.
If you must eat meat use it like a flavoring, like asians, use slices of steak to flavor, ibstead of eating 10 ozs.
And if you see your mom this weekend, tell her I said
