This websites been around for mad long.  I thought everyone knew about it.

It used to be a good site. Seems like it is not as up to date as it used to be. Mostly been focusing on nattys. Not to mention the blends they do recommend are horribly expensive or something the community has already found out about. Good for reference, just wouldnt use them as a solid resource when looking to buy.

That’s my guess.  I’ve never seen them do small independent vendors really, especially ones that do the whole e-mail order process rather than a webstore.  I have to agree HIG has gone downhill lately, pretty much since Log Jam.  The admin there quit blends after LJ and now is strictly nattys, so it’s only 1 or 2 community reviewers now.  This site was prime during the second gen, had new posts almost daily and way more users.

I always thought the reviews were shills even though a lot are well written.

I write for HIG.

We get no money from anybody for doing our reviews.
The site gets money from it’s advertisers…. some of which send samples.

We are honest, and if you read many of the reviews are not positive, even if we get the samples for free.

Thanks for noticing HIG. You are encouraged to send in your own reviews, if they are written well they will show up in the community reviews section.

EB just sent HIG samples, and we have many more coming up for review.

I’m pretty sure it is shilling, plus a little more stuff thrown in.
