One of the co founders of AA was fond of LSD in his later recovering years, and thought it would be good for other recovering alcoholics. I know theres always more to the story when you dig deeper, but damn, ive been through 5 rehabs and a halfway house before i was 21 and i never knew of this. Id care to wager that 99.9% of those in AA/NA dont know that either.
Edit – I also found it humorous that he demanded whiskey in his final days
edit edit – I also used to chair an NA meeting years ago, when i was court ordered to go.
I feel ya bro, good find…
according to "Acid Dreams" the book that tells the history of LSD, the chemical (LSD) can be an effective tool for fighting alcoholism and drug addiction.
The spiritual experiences encountered while on acid can be enlightening and can help people find a deeper meaning to their life. I’ve heard that ayawaska gives a similar experience too
So I guess it makes sense that he could see the potential of psychedelics like LSD, assuming he tried them before

Trypts, PEA’s, and the such can do that to ya. Ive read so many firsthand reports of something like mushrooms or lsd or even synthetic like 25b "waking" up that person from their destructive path…..
It should be dropped in the water supply (figuratively speaking) ::) so everyone could wake up and SEE! :hand-heart: :Smokey:
I’m thinking that would be a bad idea. Some people are definitely not cut out for or ready for an LSD experience, especially when they aren’t expecting it.
Bump as per the queen
No prob, good info.
