I got covid 5 days before I was supposed to get my yearly vaccine. It was *awful.* 103 temperature, reduced oxygenation, unable to get out of bed, no desire to eat or drink. I lost 8 pounds in just 4 days. I finally went to urgent care and was given Paxlovid. We were worried I had a cerebral-spinal fluid leak, because I had orange liquid dripping from my nose!! I thankfully was not leaking from my brain. I did a lot of internet digging and found a reddit thread with multiple other people orange nasal discharge and they had covid too – so apparently that's a possible symptom now. WTF. The Paxlovid turned me around pretty quickly, but I have been SO fatigued and sleeping 10-14 hours a day. But at least my oxygen is back up and I'm eating again.

Today, we had a lovely day at home, kids opening gifts and playing with new toys, naps, a fire, and gumbo, our yearly tradition.

I don't know about ya'll, but I'm looking forward to saying farewell to 2023. 2024 needs to step it up and be a better year!
