Cool site; found the schedule and what I presume is your avatar box. No bio though 🙁 That’s okay, guess I’ll just have to give a listen. All types of music appeal to me, depending on mood. I believe that’s the way it should be.

D Funk is a name that’s been taken for like 20 years now. A DnB Producer and DJ. He’s even one of the founders of Bassdrive.com

D Phunk? That’s like calling yourself ‘Skrilleks’ – Spelling it differently does not make it a different name.

I have been D-Phunk since 1999, I was not trying to ride on anyone’s coat tails or anything when I chose that name., that’s what people were calling me when I started spinning, my name starts with a D, and I was known for playing phat ass funky breakbeats, so people started calling me d- funk, not wanting to steal someones eases thunder I chose an alternative spelling as I knew there was a d-funk

That’s cool, man. Just wasn’t sure if you knew it was in use and a pretty well-known name.

I wasn’t trying to be a dick, BTW. Not my style.  :passing-joint:

I’ve never heard of anyone using Gemini CDJ units. I guess you must be able to actually beat match with these things nowadays huh?

As you must know, Technics and Pioneer have been the industry standard.

No diss or anything though.

A tip – if you ever do start playing big clubs, get yourself a set of Pioneer CDJ1000 MK3’s or CDJ2000 MK3’s. When you step up to the dj booth you will already be familiar with how to use the gear. Sux stepping up to the decks and being like "how do i set the cue point" LOL

I own 2 Technics SL-1200 MK5 turntables (with Ortofon Blue needles), 2 Pioneer CDJ2000 MK3’s and a Pioneer DJM909 Scratch mixer with BPM effects. Been DJing for almost 20 years.

I’ll check your show man.

Don’t worry about the name, just look at how many DJ Quest’s there are.  :Smokey:

Good point. LOL.

I didn’t know you DJ, Dub.

4 DJ’s I know of on here now. I’ve been DJing for 15 years, as well.

I’ve never met a musician that doesn’t smoke. I’m surprised there aren’t even MORE of us on here.

I am no stranger to the pioneer CDJ’s, best brand in the industry hands down, I owned  a pair of Technics sl-1200’s but sold them after I broke my back as I couldn’t haul crates of wax around after surgery and went digital with a Hercules rmx, from there I moved into the Gemini 210’s and I recently upgraded to the 700’s. ( I simply cannot afford the pioneer cdjs)I still have a "wall" of wax and I wish I never sold my decks. I don’t do much gigging these days due to legal issues, but once I get that behind me, I plan on hitting the circuit full force again 🙂 Its always been a hobby for me, I didnt get into it because I wanted gorls, money drugs or fame, I did it because the music moved me spiritually, and still does, a good three hour mix session feels like a spiritual cleansing. Its a great meditation tool for me and Ill prolly be playing this crazy shit till I am old wrinkled and gray.
