Stardate:  January 08, 2006

My friend and I had just went out bar hopping, checking out all the fine asian ladies,
and the Ho bars. I was living in Saipan. A commonwealth of the USA. Near Guam, USA.
and we stopped by his Thai Girlfriends house, he had girls seemed like everywhere,
but this night was the Thai Girl’s House!

She lived in a 3 story building, and the top fo the building was a huge open air
roof deck. So we get there drunk as hell as usual. I passed out in the chair right
outside her apartment.

Stardate:  January 09, 2006

HANG OVER FROM HELL! I felt really bad, worse than usual, of course as much as my
friend and I used to drink it was hard to tell if this hangover was worse????????????
So around mid morning she made us breakfast, and she kept nagging on us about
how we needed to stop drinking, were like ya ya whatever!

So she had some Kratom, And she made us some Kratom Leaf Tea. Tasted terrible,
I thought Never going to drink this again. So Jumped back on the Moped my 150cc
and went to work at the hotel. This was around 1 pm. So I am noticing right after I got
to work, I was feeling no hang over, feeling ok, And I am like this is weird, usually I still
feel hungover by now!

Stardate: End of January 2006

So I went online and looked this up This KRATOM substance. Ordered some to Saipan,
thought I would keep it around for hang over relief.

Stardate: Early February 2006:

My first Kratom purchase came in the P.O. Box!
So it was Tuesday I think, And it was bar night, So my friend and I picked up his
Chinese Girlfriend, and we went drinking! It was around 8pm.  This time we were
drinking some Abnsinth from the Czech
Republic.
Shit wasted out of my mind, feeling great! ( But the absinth story is another story
all together)

Next morning I thought this is the DAY I DIE! The hang over was so bad this time,
I thought I might have to go the ER ! SERIOUSLY!
Then I remembered, wait I have this Kratom in the closet!

I had done the research on how to make the tea. So I brewed some up, way to strong!!
this was the first time I actually brewed my own. So I got kind of sick, but even though
I was heaving , barfing, when I was done, I made more tea, and just sat in a chair and
listened to music, and it was almost like magic, HANGOVER GONE, Vicoden feeling coming on!

Stardate: March 2006:

So work at the hotel was getting insane 6-7 day work week, 12 + hours each day,
left me hardly any time to drink afterwork! So I would like buy beer, and slowly throughout
the Month Of March I completely stopped going out to bars. Stopped hanging out with
all my friends who drank, friends from work, 2 girls I used to go out with and drink with!

Stardate: April 2006:

So now my work schedule was crazy, Being a Waiter, Bar tender, setting up banquets,
working in them, tearing them down, being the hotels SLAVE!
So this is when I started using the Kratom Tea before work. Now i was only drinking about
2 days each week, and then I was only drinking Beer and not a lot of it, Sometimes wine,
if i couldn’t sleep etc.

Stardate: May 2006:

Woke up May 1st, 2006. And this was it, i decided, I am now going to be an ex drinker
made it 2 weeks, broke down bought a couple beers. Within the next 3 months, I kept
at it < KRATOM and No Drinking.. Became an ex drinker in August of 2006!

Now I am an ex alcoholic! And During this time living in Saipan I also quit smoking cigarettes,
now I was using MJ to help make this happen. This is just a short story of how I went from
heavy drinking, to no drinking. Chain smoker, to no more CIGS! This is why I use Kratom and Blend, and plan to continue from now on!

End of Story. Stardate: December 17, 2013

It feels good to be running from the devil
Another breath and I'm up another level
It feels good to be up above the clouds
It feels good for the first time in a long time now

"Damn so did this really give you the feeling of not needing the alcohol? Were you physically dependent on the alcohol before to not feel like shit throughout the day? I am not one who drinks nor have I ever used kratom, but I do substitute drugs for other drugs in the hope that it will better my addiction. I’m curious!"

Yes I was physically and mentally addicted to and depended on alcohol. I used the kratom and sometimes a little MJ to help me through withdrawal’s. I also used the MJ to kelp me not smoke
cigarettes. I was the combination of Kratom and MJ, which led to me being alcohol free as well
as tobacco free!!

Excellent Post Herb. Thanks for taking the time to explain your life and how you help to deal with it.  How often are you using Kratom now?  Also how often did you use Kratom when you were first trying to quit alcohol.  I also have not messed with Kratom yet.  Very interesting.  Congrats on your accomplishment brutha.

Kratom is addicting yes but it’s effects on your body seem negligible if not beneficial??? So it’s like why even consider it an "addiction" as opposed to your medicine.

I realize many addicts use this logic but I’ll put kratom up next to ANYTHING else physically addicting used daily in this world & kratom will ring true. Yes, it is a medicine. Yes, you will need to dose once per day.

To quit takes 1 week, no Paws, 3rd day is worst. With stomach pains from lack of serotonin I hear (one of the things kratom does for us). I’ve never tried but this is the average experience from the forums I follow. Also, withdrawal seems worse for those who used kratom to quit opiates. It’s like it delays that withdrawal…

And not to mention quality of life. I am very relieved to have stopped drinking and now no longer feel my heart beating in my ears at night. Kratom actually lowers BP!

Sorry, one more, not to highjack this thread but you know Avoca can’t shut up about kratom!

It does NOT have to be physically addicting if you put a day off (at least) between go days. A few days per week?, no problem. But once I saw it was medicinal I committed to dailies. Now I have a little WD as I’m coming home from work. But that’s due to doing twice per day for a week recently (vacation). My body will straighten out after another few days of once per evening to where I have no WD between.

Didn’t want ppl to think it was addicting necessarily. It doesn’t have to be, it’s up to each user.

I’ve been doing a Kratom Iced Tea lately that rocks my socks and is beyond easy to drink.

Recipe depends how much you want to make at once. I usually make 2 or 3 servings at a time.

I use 5-6 grams of Kratom Powder per serving.

Basically, put Kratom Powder at the bottom of the Biggest mug you can find (Think Gigantic Beer Stein).
Boil water and fill the mug. Stir in a couple tablespoons of sugar/sweetener.
Let steep until it comes to room temperature. Once cooled down, add juice from 1 whole lime and stir again.
Cover the container and allow to sit in the fridge overnight. All of the kratom powder will settle to the bottom overnight, so you actually don’t end up drinking the powder.
The long cold extraction seems to be REALLY effective for extracting most of the alkaloids from the powder, too.
This brews a nice strong Iced Tea that’s ready and waiting for you in the morning… and I can’t even really taste the kratom. Tastes like Lime/Lemon iced tea.

For you more experienced Kratom users, give this a shot and let me know how it works compared to your normal preparation. Just curious.

I need to go with a batch like that r2. Would benefit from sitting in the fridge like you say. I’ve heard that works from others too. I’d get better aromas most likely.

But I’ve heard that the cholesterol lowering effect may be partially due to the amount of insoluble fiber we’re ingesting. That’s a toughie – go for the easier tea with no grounds but possibly negating some of the positive health effects…

Avoca said "Now I have a little WD as I’m coming home from work."

Oh so that’s what that little extra edge to my normal afternoon crash is LOL.
My method is actually 3-4 G firs thing in the morning and then breakfast,. good for the day then. Only occasionally at night if pain or sleeplessness rear their ugly heads, but don’t have to do the evening bit very often. The only thing is I actually do enjoy 1-2 beers with a smaller like 1-1,5 g spoonful at night, so its not an alcohol deterrent as such for me as I like them together. My only concern is that its doing a double whammy on my liver but I don’t see or feel anything of the sort, and I get blood work done several times a year just checking for high cholesterol, liver enzymes, etc which is not unusual for many people once they are out of their 20s/early 30s. Tests come up swimmingly well, even blood pressure which is why I’m monitored in the first place.

While it has not helped me quit drinking all together, it sure cut down my desire/need over time. I was just replacing MJ with alcohol anyways… and when its legal the circle will be complete. IF you got $10 to spend would you buy some drinks or a g of great MJ (just hypothetical pricing). Myself I would not bother with the booze at all then.

Yes the 1st time I went from multi to once per day I got quicksand legs and fuzzy head a cpl hrs before clock out. Would scare me like ppl would notice I couldn’t move right!! Lasted about 2 weeks, lessening until my body adjusted.

But this time it’s like "oh yeah, quicksand legs, I just put one foot in front of the other" lol… That’s to say it’s not something I really notice, just deal with. Now I’m not panicked, I realize no one can tell unless maybe I do panick. Getting better, I figure by Xmas I’ll be adjusted then it’s Vaca & party is on multi times per day cycle all over again!! Great to be alive!!

The trick to being a good stalker is always having weed.

If they catch you stalking just say "wanna smoke some weed?",

If they say "no"… fuck em.

You don’t need that kinda negativity in your life.
